Sorush Batmangelich, Ed.D.,MHPE, FACME
Founder and President

Dr. Batmangelich is a professional educator, with over 40 years of experience in medical education, is a seasoned, doctoral-level medical education specialist and consumate health care professional--a leader in his field.  Recognized nationally as a GME/CME/CPD expert, he is a high-caliber consultant, instructor, facilitator, text book editor/author, and frequent guest speaker.

 

Dr. Batmangelich is the Co-Editor and author of the 2014 textbook titled "Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Patient-Centered Care: Mastering the Competencies", a popular textbook used among PM&R residency and fellowship training programs, program directors, faculty members, and residents and fellows, used as a companion to the curriculum in training programs.  

 

His practice focuses on accreditation, physician education, training, and competency, ACGME residency and fellowship development and sponsoring institutional development, faculty development, maintenance of certification (MOC), and program accreditation.

He has served as GME and CME/CPD consultant to more than 60 clients in PM&R residency programs, academic sponsoring institutions, medical specialty societies, medical schools, hospitals, education companies, and other health care organizations.

From 2001-2002, Dr. Batmangelich served as President of the Illinois Alliance for Continuing Medical Education.

He has delivered more than 300 lectures and workshops nationally and internationally, and serves as a CME Site Surveyor for the Illinois State Medical Society.

Before launching his consulting career, Dr. Batmangelich held education leadership positions as the founding Director of Education for the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, Chicago, IL. He also served as Director of Education at Marianjoy Rehabilitation Hospital, Wheaton, IL. He was past Assistant Professor, PM&R, Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, IL, and past CME Advisory Committee member at Rush University Medical Center.

Dr. Batmangelich received his Ed.D. in Adult and Continuing Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb; a Masters in Health Professions Education (MHPE) from the College of Medicine, Dept. of Medical Education of the University of Illinois at Chicago; and a Bachelors of Science, Pre-Med and Biology, from University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana. 

As the son of a diplomat, he was raised in 8 different countries throughout the world, attending American, British and French schools, before coming to the US beginning in high school. Dr. Batmangelich is fluent in English, French, and Farsi; and conversational in Turkish and Arabic.
